Mission

To support and strengthen the newly emerging civil society in Egypt and the Arab countries, while encouraging its diversity of character and unity of purpose, as part of a larger global civil society.

DSC identifies its basic mission (role) as:

Assisting in the process of strengthening the growing civil society in Egypt and the Arab region through developing the institutional capacities of the different organizations and growing civil initiatives.
Assisting organizations and institutions to develop an independent agenda, both at the community and national levels, through the identification of the needs of its target groups and beneficiaries, especially the most disadvantaged and marginalized.
Building on the common experience of organizations to develop the skills and tools which enable NGOs and their communities or target groups to identify and advocate their issues to broader sections of society, including governmental bodies.
